Using Hand-Held Remote Controls
Posted on by
Home Automation is all about making life easy for yourself. So adding a hand-held remote control to your system makes a lot of sense.
You can carry the remote around with you or you can leave it on a table so that it's always in reach, ready to kick your system into action.
Remotes can be used stand alone, controlling individual devices, but they really come into their own when they're used with a Z-Wave central controller.
Using them as a Scene Controller together with VERA or Fibaro HC2 enables them to trigger complex scenes - setting multiple light levels, turning on your TV/AV equipment and rolling down the blinds - all with just the press of a single button.
Now that makes the perfect add-on to your system.
And remember, remote controls also come in tiny key-fobs that you can carry with you anywhere.
Aeon Labs have a couple of really nice remotes that are consistently in our best selling products:
These remotes are light, small and make controlling your Z-Wave system even more convenient.
To make it even easy for you to use them, we've just added some new application guides showing exactly how to add and configure the Aeon remotes in VERA and Fibaro Home Center 2.
