evohome Controller

evohome controller gen3 - ATC928G3000

The multi-zone evohome controller controls the time and temperature of up to 12 heating zones plus a domestic hot water supply if required. Each zone has independent time and temperature control.

Multi-Zone Control

  • Wireless control of up to 12 zones, with an unlimited number of radiators
  • A number of radiators can be grouped together as a zone
  • Controller can act as local thermostat on it's own
  • Simple Touch panel control of your heating

Leaning and Optimisation

  • In-built optimisation features such as 'delayed start' and 'optimum stop', allow evohome to intelligently optimise start and stop times. A learning TPI algorithm ensures each zone adapts to the weather and the seasons.
  • Quick Actions
    • Day Off mode changes the schedule for all the zones to a pre-set day (change a week day to a weekend)
    • The Heating Off button will turn all the zones off unless the frost protection temperature level is reached

Simple Touch Panel Control

  • Wizard based set-up and configuration - simple set-up no matter how many zones you have
  • Mains powered with rechargeable batteries (last up to 30 mins)
  • Choice of idle screens, analogue or digital clock displays and a choice of day or night mode increases the aesthetic properties of the most visible part of the evohome system.
  • Interchangeable surrounds (white, silver and black) available as an optional extra

Wi-Fi Access

  • Integrated Wi-Fi - connects direct to your Wi-Fi Router

evohome Wireless Relay

The remote relay is wired into either a motorised zone valve or the boiler and provides the wireless interface between these devices and the evohome system.

The relay box requires a permanent 230V AC supply.

This is a must have for any home where zoned heating is not built in
Even the new builds have usually only two zones so worth there as well. It saves about 70% of heating cost when finetuned. Finetuning took me about 6 weeks, but after that we rarely had to change any settings. Set up is a breeze, takes about 5 minutes per radiator and this time includes inserting the batteries into TRV. There are a few things I would change on the user interface ie I'd love to have both the room and the set temperatures visible on TRV all the time and same on thermostat, but this is a minor change and is not related to funtionality.

Brilliant
see my other review of the 4 pack HR92 units. For a furnished holiday let with me living 220 miles away. Bought in Aug 15, has paid for itself ( the controller and the 4 pack HR92) in 2 months.... wow. Beat that. Going to get for my house now. Very stable, never goes wrong ( or if it does it quickly resets itself). Worth the money honestly. Just wish Honeywell would extend the system to controlling other things like lighting

great stuff
i bought this system over a year ago now and still think its great, one thing however is if your going to go for this buy all the valves you will need for every room, since i moved to a larger house i don't have enough rad stats to cover all the new rads and this means if one of them call for heat the rads without honeywell rad stats come on as well, other than that great stuff as we all love different room temperatures thiers no fighting over turning the main stat up or down or windows being left open.

Quality Product
To be honest I looked at other options (Nest etc). I had HIVE in my last house, but thought to go ahead and purchase the evohome. It is very impressive, the multi-zone control outstrips any other product on the market.

This is the latest technology and enables me to configure the system, just the way I like. Being able to access the system when I am away from home is great.

Does Honeywell Evohome Security Wireless Pet-Immune Motion Sensor interface successfuly, if not does any Motion Sonsor work with Evohome wifi Connected Thermostat Pack?
Michael S. 25 Oct 2016
BEST ANSWER: As far as we're aware the evohome security system only shares a name with the evohome heating system, they're not compatible with each other. There does seem to be some limited integration between the separate systems though, as you can arm / disarm the evohome security system and your evohome heating system will react accordingly. But that interaction will likely be handled "in the cloud" by the respective Cloud servers. Hope that helps!

Can You provide this kit with ATF600 included insted of ATF800?

I had a chance to test EvoHome v3 in January. That time it was badly overshooting. Boiler was going on 6x an hour (ignoring a set-point/room temperature) and it wasn't possible to turn that function off. Does anything change it that matter ?

My evo home can detect my wifi network but I am not able to connect to it. I am using the correct password. Any advice?
Ian M. 21 Feb 2016
BEST ANSWER: I had a similar problem recently: I upgraded my wifi hub and went to connect the Evohome controller to it. I identified the SSID and correctly entered the password, but it came up with a message along the lines of 'can't connect to network'. I tried a number of things, none of which appeared to work. After giving up, I later noticed that the screen showed the 'connected to network' icon in the top left of the screen and I was able to access it remotely. Trying the process again, it came up with the same error message and again displayed that icon after a short while, and again I was able to connect to it from the Total Connect Comfort app and it's worked fine ever since. Hope that helps!
Does wifi means that there is an api for it? So it can be controlled with a Fibaro box?
sterkwater 15 Dec 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi The Evo system works differently to the Fibaro. The EVO system controller is in permanent contact with the Honeywell server. To controll the system the phone/PC logs on to the Honeywell servers not to the EVO controller directly. From what I can observe the EVO controller gets a lot of it's intellegence from the servers i.e. reacting to the weather correctly. There is no API available to allow other systems to talk to the Honeywell servers. All traffic from the EVO controller to the servers (RS.ALARMNET.COM) is HTTPS and encrypted. You can pick it apart if you use WireShark or similar but not a simple task.
