You have post! – Z-Wave enabled letter box

Following our previous guide showing how to create a Z-Wave enabled door chime, today we’re sharing a similar idea we use ourselves at home: a Z-Wave enabled letter box.

Letter Box

With a carefully positioned Fibaro Door & Window Sensor you can monitor your letter box and integrate it in your Smart Home logic.

Letter Box

For example you can receive real-time push notifications whenever the postman / postwoman drops something for you. That’s particularly useful if your letter box is remote from your house and you can't see or hear when the post is delivered.

Some letter boxes may allow you to hide the door sensor in the door cavity so that it's completely invisible, if you take that route make sure that it won't get knocked off when somebody pushes a larger letter or parcel through!
