It allows them to be integrated into the home central heating system, programmed and remote controlled. You can easily monitor and adjust your heating from your mobile device (Apple and Android app available).

Capable of switching loads up to 13A and has dry contacts to allow you to control 'volt-free' appliances.

The Electric Switch also has a "Boost" button that raises the target temperature several degrees above the current temperature for the duration of one hour.

How water control
I use this in conjunction with the Lightwave thermostat and boiler switch to control the heating in a holiday cottage. It can act as a thermostat controlling an electric heater or as a simple switch and is thus rather expensive for use as a switch. (It is unfortunate that the combined central heating and hot water controller that appeared in some of the earlier LightwaveRF leaflets seems not to have materialised.) The main issue with all LightwaveRF kit is that they have recently redesigned the control app and the documentation doesn't always reflect its current layout. It took me a while to realise how to change the functionality of the unit from thermostat to simple switch. (They haven't released an updated web controller as yet, either.) The LightwaveRF app lacks some simple functionality for central heating control, such as switching off the heating for the period you are away (you have to re-programme the daily cycle and then programme it again when you return). I also had a problem with a weak wireless link back to the central controller, but moving the controller slightly seems to have solved this. LightwaveRF is good kit and simple to use, but as the man on their help desk said, it is still "under development".

Hello, I am interested in buying Vera Edge Plus and Rfxcom 433mhz device for Lightwave control. I am presuming that I do not need the Lightwave Link box as I would be able to control this through the Vera Edge Plus? thanks in advance

I have underfloor heating connected to just a standard rocker switch at the moment, Id like ot replace it with something like this device. is there any reason why it would work? has anyone got an image of the back of this unit? so i can look at depth etc? Also, I've worked with a few boiler devices that have an automatic 1h off trigger, does this device have the same?

BEST ANSWER: Completely agree with Douglas G. And in answer to your whestion about the 1hr 'boost' function, the answer is yes from the switch itself, but that function is not replucated on the Lightwave Android App for some reason. You can switch it on and off and create programming schedules from the app, but a very simple 1hr 'boost' that you can press once and forget about is missing. I hope this is addressed in the next release of the app. Overall, a good product. My only real criticism is that the terminal conncetions on the rear are very crammped and fiddly.
