The LightwaveRF Inline On/Off Relay enables wireless remote control of any appliance or lighting system up to a maximum load of 3,000W.

The LightwaveRF Relay can be controlled by any LightwaveRF compatible remote control handset or using your computer, smartphone or tablet when used together with a compatible home automation gateway such as LightwaveRF WiFi-Link, or VERA (+ RFXtrx433).

Being used to control a 2kw electric radiator where simple on/off control was required. By linking this to a vera controller and using 'scenes' I have all the control I need at a very reasonable price.

would this be suitable to use for charging a electric car on independent 13amp circuit?

BEST ANSWER: Yes this will be fine. It is a relay (switch) capable of handling up to 13A. The car charger will use less than that, so you should be fine. Obviously confirm that your charger does use less than 13A - other than that there would be no issue.
I would like to use this to remotely control a 1.7Kw electric heater. Can you confirm that this device is suitable please?

BEST ANSWER: The in-line relay will handle loads up to 3000W (resistive), a heating element will be resistive, so 1700W will be fine. The other comment is also correct, the electric switch may be a better solution, especially if the heater is connected to a fused spur rather hand a normal flex cable and plug. One thing to note is the Electric Switch is a LightwaveRF heating product, these use a different frequency (868MHz) to LightwaveRF dimmers, switches, inline relays and sockets (433MHz). This will work fine in LightwaveRF Link as it support both frequencies, but if you are using RFXtrx433 it won't work as it uses 868MHz. So for RFX the Inline relay LW830) will be a better solution.
