House feels secure now
Impressed with the ease of connectivity to my Smartthings hub and now I have a basic alarm system to build upon

Works with vera plus easily if you only want one sound
Now pairs and can be configured easily in vera UI7 but as sound type and volume are in parameters you can only set one value. That's fine for me as I mainly want it to tell me if a door is open. Think you should be able to use luup code to set individual parameters for each scene, but can't get the code to work properly at the moment.

A good internal siren.
Good siren with excellent buid quality. As siren is loud and include a battery backup, I'm using it as a bell with an outdoor z-wave door sensor. The inclusion with Eedomus is easy but the manual a bit so-so. Finally a recommended buy.

Multifunction siren, really good and quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be but super loud!
Great siren especially if you want to have control over the volume and siren tone so you can adjust it according to your sensor network feedback. I have developed my own alarm system in Node.js that listens for sensor changes and acts accordingly and if a sensor is tripped and the alarm is active I send the siren the signal to start chirping at a low volume giving us 10 seconds to disarm the alarm via the iPad app I wrote. If the alarm code is not entered in time the system sets the siren to full volume and a different tone. This is better than some other sirens that don't provide different tones or volume control.

Z-wave dropouts and non UK plug
Perhaps a little unfair giving this 2 stars but this product doesn't integrate with Vera Edge properly which will probably be addressed in a future Vera update as these are quite regular. As it stands today it keeps dropping out of the Z-wave network which is three feet away from my Vera Edge. Oh and it's got a moulded EU style plug that forms part of the unit which needs an adaptor.

your compatibility guide suggests this doesn't work with UI7, but your work around notes only refer to UI5. can you confirm if this works fully with UI7 / vera Plus?
22 Mar 2016
BEST ANSWER: We've not tested the Aeon Siren recently, but based on customer feedback it is now possible to turn the siren on / off in UI7 but still not possible to alter the volume / sounds dynamically due to the way that Aeon implemented these features. The guide at shows how you can use LUA scripting to control the volume and sounds dynamically, this technique should still work in UI7.
Whats the minimum decibel this will go to? and could you use it as short alert sound for a door opening with Vera Plus?
17 Mar 2016
BEST ANSWER: The minimum volume setting is 88dB (parameter #37), this should be fine for your application. Most doorbells for instance are around 85-90dB. So this should be loud enough without being too loud.
can this be triggered via smartthings by pressung a button on smart phone ?
5 Mar 2016
BEST ANSWER: It can be triggered within the smartthings apps, by pressing on / off button. if that's what you are asking. Can be triggered by any sensor within smartthings.
