Need advice? More information?

The Everspring Illumination Sensor is designed to measure the ambient lighting of your room and communicate signals back to your home automation system's Z-Wave controller, whenever your room's illumination reaches above or fall below the predefined levels.

Smart Sensor

The intelligent lighting sensor can be used in different scenarios to automatically switch on your lighting when it gets dark and smartly control your curtains if it gets too bright, making your home smart, personalized and energy efficient.

Configurable Sensing

Everspring Illumination sensor detects lighting in the range of 30-1000 Lux, which means it can be used indoors and outdoors. In fact, the light detection range can also be configured manually, so that you receive alerts only when you need it.

LCD Display

The Illumination sensor also comes a backlit LCD display that displays current illumination, timer, battery status, and transmission indication, which means you can keep a check on the levels without connecting to your Z-Wave controller.

Low Battery Alert

The smart sensor runs on 3 x 1.5V AA batteries, and notifies you when the battery gets low with a built-in 60dB beep and LED indication.

Note: To create a smart home automation network, the sensor needs to be a part of a Z-Wave network and connected to a suitable Z-Wave controller.

Excellent device, a little hard to install
Very satisfied with accuracy and power consumption. Installation (Raspberry Pi 3 / Domoticz) took some effort. Make sure you enable the frequent reporting the first time! The device is working fine for a couple of weeks en is a solid sensor for the lights in my house.

eats batteries
IT works and is well made but the battery life is about a month which is terrible

Solidly built
I purchased the Everspring from Vesternet to replace an Aeon Labs Multisensor used as an external dawn-to-dusk light sensor. The Aeon had never been satisfactory, with erratic battery consumption despite plenty of tweaking of the settings. The Everspring unit feels much more substantial and is performing well. With its LCD display it doesn't look like it would be happy outside, but it's been happy for months including some heavy downpours. With the Aeon it was nice to see the outside temperature and humidity, but I'll trade that for the Everspring's better engineering.
