The FOXX Project Range Extender is a low-cost Z-Wave mesh network repeater and signal amplifier used to extend the range of communication between Z-Wave products in the same network.

The repeater supports Z-Wave explorer frames that allows for Network Wide Inclusion (NWI) and dynamic route discovery for other Z-Wave products that support explorer frames.

With an unobtrusive small form factor, the FOXX Project Range Extender will not block the lower AC outlet (when plugged into the top outlet).

Do any of the range extenders at Vesternet continue to operate of a small battery in the event of power loss? If not then during power loss any sensor that relies on a repeater will loose contact with the controller and your security function will be lost. Not good. Does anyone know of a battery backed repeater?

I tested with Domoticz and no luck - Foxx isn't in the list of manufacturers supported by OpenZWave. Any idea how to configure them?

BEST ANSWER: Not sure what you mean by "tested" - all you need to do with any Z-Wave extender is to Include it into the Z-Wave network in its final position and it will automatically sort out the routing itself. Note also that there's really no discernible benefit to using an extender over using any other mains powered Z-Wave device. We usually recommend to simply add additional Z-Wave plugin sockets, they'll do exactly the same job as an extender but you get something that can also be used to control appliances / equipment if it becomes necessary at a later date. Hope that helps!
Does this product act as one of the hops in the Zwave communication or is it "invisible" to the network?

BEST ANSWER: It is a mains-powered Z-Wave device, so automatically repeats the signals (as all mains-powered devices do).
