Water Heating Thermostat

MCOHome Water Heating Thermostat is a Z-Wave enabled device for indoor temperature control. MH7-WH-EU is mainly applied to control wall mounted boiler, water valve/pump, under floor pipes, radiator systems, etc. The device is of high reliability and  practicability. And can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from any other manufacturers.

Thermostat is suggested to be installed indoor, a place with around 1.5m height above the floor where represents the average room temperature. It should be away from direct sunlight, any cover, or any heat source, to avoid false signal for temperature control.

So far so good
Installed with a new combi boiler. Hurdle 1 was that this is a mains powered unit so I had to have it wired in, my previous was battery powered. Hurdle 2, it requires surface or sunken patress which I didn't have as the other was surface mounted. Touch controls are adequate, time will tell how sensitive they are. The instructions are a little brief but it's ok to understand once you get the hang of it. Wiring into my passive boiler was easy enough. You can override the temperature by hitting the up or down arrows, this lasts for the duration of the time period when in auto mode or until switched back down when in manual mode. z-wave pairing took a few attempts but has been discovered by my Devolo Home Control unit as an unidentified device (not unexpected). The Devolo presents with On/Off button, Humidity and then 4 temperatures. Temp 1: Current Temperature Temp 2: Manual Mode target temperature Temp 3: Current auto time period temperature Temp 4: Vacation Mode temperature The on/off button when on set's the stat to manual mode and when off sets to auto mode. I am able to reference all of the settings when creating scenes in the Home Control software and manually changing the temperatures and toggling on/off is quickly updated on the stat. Though not mentioned there appears to be some sort of memory in the device that survives power cuts. I pulled the power on it for 2 minutes and powered back on to find it correctly synced back to the control unit and remembered it's settings.

I want to use this as a replacement for a Secure SRT321wall thermostat, to control the Secure boiler receiver. Would that work ?

Is this the version to control a normal gas boiler ? Not a combi, its an old boiler. Or can I use the version with humidity ?

Does it work with any standard Boiler Receiver or does it need a Z-wave enabled Boiler Receiver?

BEST ANSWER: We've not seen any feedback from customers, so cannot confirm if this works in HC2. It is a standard Z-Wave device, so should be fine.
