New Qubino Flush 2 Relay

The Qubino Flush 2 Relay is a two channel Z-Wave switch capable of controlling two independent appliance or light circuits up to a maximum load of 4A each. It fits into an existing light switch enabling you to wirelessly control appliances as well as measuring their power consumption.

Qubino relay 2

Dual On/Off Flush Relay Switch

Double relay switch capable of operating a load of up to 4A.

  • Requires 3-wire (including neutral) installation - further information is in our 2-wire/3-wire guide
  • Works with AC or DC power supply (110-230V AC or 24-30V DC)
  • Extra switch inputs for controlling additional associated devices or 2-way installations (see note)

Extra Features

The Qubino Flush 2 Relay includes extra features to make it even more useful in your home automation system.

Power Monitoring

The Relay monitors the power being used by your appliance and reports actual power (Watts) and total consumption (kWh) - helping you control and reduce your energy bills.

Temperature Sensor

Using an optional temperature sensor, the Qubino Relay can report the temperature to your system - you can use this to control heating, blinds and ventilation systems.

Works fine, but a few things to watch out for...
Works like it should, no problems with that. Associated with the network happily without me having to force it, too. A few things to know - these caught us out (ok, we should've read the instructions VERY carefully): 1. On AC, the Qubino modules connect the switch on the neutral side - unlike Fibaro etc and unlike just about any existing switch in the UK or half of Europe; we fit the modules in the ceiling to avoid needing neutral at the switches, so that caused some confusion and then a hasty swapping and re-sleeving of wires from live to neutral. 2. On DC, the live is -ve and the neutral is +ve - opposite of what one might expect! 3. The two additional switch inputs show up on the controller (Vera Edge in this case) as sensors, not switches. I've not yet worked out whether that is a good or a bad thing, probably depends on your application for them; also not sure how they'll work with my momentary (non-latching) switches. So far, in operation I've had no issues at all, can switch locally and remotely and the changes are picked up as they should be. Personally, I'd buy the new Fibaro modules next time as they now have the extra switch inputs that attracted me to Qubino and they don't do back-to-front things with the wiring!

Hi, are the electrical switched I/P and O/P's isolated from the main L & N whether powered by 230v AC or 24v DC please. I have a need for the unit to be powered by the UK mains 240v AC, but control low voltage 12v appliances Thanks Peter

BEST ANSWER: Hi.For that style of application you need a relay that has 'dry' contacts (also known as volt-free). This Qubino relay would not be suitable as it does not have dry contacts. They do have a new relay being release in June that will do this (Relay 1D) - or you can use either of the Fibaro relays as they have dry contacts.
Can this be used for normal plug sockets, (to controll tv, washing machine etc), power on and off?

BEST ANSWER: You can use a Qubino relay to control power to a socket, but I would recommend using the Qubino Relay x1 as it has a higher current rating than the Relay x2 (and you would be wasting one of the channels for the Relay x2). Normally we do not recommend using relays for socket control as they don't give as much flexibility as wall plugs.
