Need advice? More information?

This TKB Switch Socket is used between a wall outlet and lamps or other appliances connected to the socket. It allows you to control your appliances using the Z-Wave network through any Z-Wave controller. The item can even be controlled by other wireless controllers.

The socket also acts as a repeater to ensures maximum coverage for your Z-Wave network.

Note: By default the LED is set to 'Night-Light' mode, which means the LED is ON when the device is OFF. To change this so the LED is OFF when the device is OFF, set parameter 1 to 1.

Works fine with VeraLite But Power cosumption
Been using these for almost three years now without any issues. One think I have just found that they pull around 3w while just plugged in. That's around 26KWH a year or just under £4. Not a lot, except if you have 10 that means its costs £40 just to have these all waiting vera to tell them to do something.. Looking around the vesternet site there are some now at under 1 watt. Off topic, Sonos devices pull 5w, there are about 25 million out there !

Bought one of these as I was unsure if my ZW network would work in a basement garage controlled from Indigo server + Aeon Z Stick (5 Gen) on 2nd floor of a 3 storey building. I basically needed a repeater node in the garage to report events from door sensor. Buying a Qubino module just to experiment with was relatively expensive compared to this unit which can be repurposed at a later date now I know everything in the garage works. Plugged it in and set the Z Stick to include and added the device to Indigo. Took the TKB down to the garage and plugged it into the wall socket. iPhone can receive WiFi so tried togging the ON/OFF using the Indigo iPhone app - no problem the TKB internal relay works there seems to be no issue with the signal despite the height of the building and there being a concrete floor slab in the way. More impressed with Z-Wave the further I delve into this technology.

Homeseer HS3 Pro
Homeseer HS3 in conjunction with a Gen 5 UZB1 stick works very well with these sockets, and the UZB1 allows remote inclusion to the network. The socket turns the LED ON when the socket is OFF, but this can easily be reversed by setting a simple parameter. A good socket at a good price !

TKB Breeding?
I think the TKB switches znd dimmers must be breeding in my house. I keep getting extra ones. Seriously though, I think they are good looking for the price and cover most of the situations I need. Vera edge doesn't have them as a known device but they include very easily as generic devices. Association with other devices works well. Good product.

TKB On/Off Socket
Added to Indigo and does exactly what it says it would! Tip: In Indigo (or other controllers) you can disable the "LED nightlight mode" - this turns off the blue light on the socket when its off.

BEST ANSWER: Not without hacking around in the core configuration unfortunately. That said, if you're using a 3rd party App like Imperihome then you can edit devices to show whatever icon you wish. Hope that helps!
hi the device works however a couple of days ago it started doing a tick tack sound which is a bit annoying. any clue about the reason? any way to solve it?

Does this switch LED lamps OK?
David B. 26 Dec 2015
BEST ANSWER: LED lights will work with the TKBHome TZ68E (On/Off Appliance switch). Many LED lamps will NOT work with the TKBHome TZ67E (Dimmer) even if the lamp says its a dimmable LED. This is becuase on Z-Wave dimmer modules a small amount of current leaks through so the module can recognise whether the lamp is being switched on at the lamps own switch and can then 'switch on' the module. This harmless and tiny current leakage isn't enough to light a filament lamp, but it can cuase some LED lamps to flicker even when the Z-wave module says it's off.
Hi. Are there any known issues with this? I have one connected to a vera edge. Every few weeks it suddenly can't detect the device and has to be re-paired.
