Z-Wave Vision Door & Window Sensor - Gen5

Overview Shipping Returns Support

Need advice? More information?

The Vision ZD2102 Door/Window Sensor is a Z-Wave sensor that detects whether a door or window is open or closed.

The sensor uses two magnetic units to detect movement; one is placed on the moving part of the door or window and the other unit on the frame. When the detector is triggered it sends an alert signal to up to four associated Z-Wave devices.

The sensor can have an external switch connected to it and includes an internal tamper switch

It is easily fitted to any door or window using screws or double-sided tape. Battery replacement is simple and the detector even tells you when they need replacing by flashing its LED and sending an alert to the central controller.

Note: To be used as part of a Z-Wave network this sensor requires a suitable Z-Wave controller.

Z-Wave Plus

The Vision ZD2102 Door/Window Sensor is Z-Wave Plus Certified. Z-Wave Plus (5th Generation Z-Wave) offers a lot of new features including increased range, extended battery life and Over The Air upgrading (OTA). Take a look at our "What is Z-Wave Plus" guide for more information

Pairs well with vera plus and seems to work
Only had this a day but paired easily with vera plus and seems to work every time. Good range on magnet allowed me to fit it slightly out of alignment without it getting g grumpy which I just what I needed as I have angled mouldings on our upvc doors. Will see how it goes but if it continues to work will give it 5 stars.

Can this be mains powered to allow z-wave signal repeating? I hear some sensors can be mains powered as well as battery.
Huw T. 7 Apr 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is battery powered only. We show this type of information in the "Technical Tab", so if you want to check any technical details of a device, take a look in that tab. Generally, all Z-Wave sensors are battery-powered, and only a few can be powered from an external power supply. Currently all door sensors are battery only. The Aeon MultiSensor6 (motion sensor) can be powered from external 5V, but that is one of the few that can be powered externally.
Will this sensor, or any other, work when attached to old style aluminium window frames? I read alot about needing to keep them away from metal?

BEST ANSWER: I have mine attached to an aluminium door and it works fine. I have no issues with it at all.
