The Vision ZG8101 is a Z-Wave compatible sensor that detects if a garage door is vertical (closed) or horizontal (open), making it ideal for added security of external garages.

The detector can have an external switch connected to it and includes an internal tamper switch

It is easily fitted to any garage door using screws or double-sided tape. Battery replacement is simple and the detector even tells you when they need replacing by flashing its LED and sending an alert to the central controller.

Note: To be used as part of a Z-Wave network this sensor requires a suitable Z-Wave controller.

To alert when my garage door is open.

Excellent device. Stuck to the inside of my garage door and used to send me alerts whenever the garage door was opened with a highly sensitive garage door opener. I combined this with a TBK68E power controller which turns off the power to the garage door when it's not required

Doe anyone know how to reverse the open closed state on this? Mine is saying open when closed and closed when open! Very odd!

BEST ANSWER: Have you mounted it upside down by mistake?
I want to remotely detect if either of my garage doors is open, and light an indicator indoors if it is. What equipment do I need?

BEST ANSWER: I have used this device along with a Vera Lite unit and a TKBHome mains socket in a similar way for testing. I basically created a trigger in the Vera software to read the status of the garage door detector. On opening I had it run a scene which turned on a lamp. On closing I had it run another scene which turned off the lamp. This was purely for testing the trigger and I now operate a relay with it for an alarm buzzer in a similar way. Setting the detector in the right way to get it to work takes a little bit of messing about, but I managed it with a bit of patience! Hope this helps :)
