Z-Wave Vision Shock and Vibration Sensor - Gen5

Overview Shipping Returns Support

Need advice? More information?

The Z-Wave Vision Shock and Vibration Sensor monitors movements or vibrations when attached to your door and windows, and alerts you in case they're broken. Since traditional door and window sensors trigger alerts when a door/window is opened, and not when the glass is shattered, they add an extra layer of protection to your home security system.

Superior Protection

The sensor can be connected with your Z-Wave home automation network's central controller to trigger an alarm, send a text message or start camera recording, whenever an intrusion is detected.

Adjustable Sensitivity

The sensor can be calibrated manually to adjust to the sensitivity of the material it is attached. For example, if you want to protect a delicate glass casing, you may want to increase the sensitivity, but in case you're attaching it to a hard glass surface, you may want to decrease the sensitivity, so that it provides accurate protection.

Tamper Proof and Low battery Notifications

Vision shock and vibration sensor comes with tamper protection, which ensures that the device is not tinkered with, outside your notice. In case the device is tampered, the sensor notifies your gateway controller, and can trigger off an alarm. To ensure uninterrupted connectivity, the sensor also notifies you in case you need to change your batteries by flashing its LED and sending an alert to the central controller, so that you can replace them .

Easy to Install

The unit is battery-operated and light-weight, which means it can easily be fitted to any door, window or item using screws or double-sided tape.

Note: To be used as part of a Z-Wave network this sensor requires a suitable Z-Wave controller.

Z-Wave Plus

Vision Shock and Vibration Sensor is Z-Wave Plus Certified. Z-Wave Plus (5th Generation Z-Wave) offers a lot of new features including increased range, extended battery life and Over The Air upgrading (OTA). Take a look at our "What is Z-Wave Plus" guide for more information

Will not work with Fibaro HC2
Will not work with Fibaro HC2. It will added it but will not report anything. Shame, as it seems like a well built device, hence the 3 stars

Vera UI7 issue
After being unable to have this recognised correctly by my Vera Plus, Vera support confrmed that an issue had developed with their code for this sensor and that it no longer worked. They had no date for a fix. Very annoying since it's listed in the unit's drop-down menu as asupported device and that;s why I bought it. Hopefully they will come up with a fix soon. Appart from that it does seem to work but I'm not convinced that it's sensetive enough.. It also no longer has terminals for the external switch.

Can anyone confirm if this is compatible with teh Vera Plus with UI7? Does it report the dry contact input as a separate input or is it combined with the vibration sensor?

BEST ANSWER: We had customer feedback that the original version worked in Indigo, so this one should also be fine -
I'm working on a project about connected home appliances. Can I use this on a washing machine for detecting harsh vibrations of the machine?

I would like to connect an external switch (a magnetic reed sensor) to it - should I wire a resistor to the circuit too when doing so?
Alberto R. 17 Jan 2016
BEST ANSWER: There's no need to wire a resistor, it's a simple "dry contact" connection so you can just connect the external switch directly.
