The Z-Wave Outdoor Motion Sensor can be powered by either 2 × CR123A batteries or by a 12–24 V AC/DC power supply through sealed terminals. It also supports battery backup when both power supply and batteries are used, and it functions as a Z-Wave repeater when running on the power supply.
