Its not often we blog about changes to the site design, we normally just roll out new features as they're developed.
But alot of work has been going on behind the scenes and over the coming months you'll see some big changes mixed with some real innovations which have been in the works for over a year.
But today I want to share a big change around categorisation and filtering. Its really important because if you've been using Vesternet for the past few years then you need to know how to find products via Technology type...
You see, when I started Vesternet it was launched originally as a Z-Wave shop only. We then added more technologies over time and so for the past few years we've categorised everything this way. The idea was everything Z-Wave would be in one category as it'd all work together (something we've all realised isn't quite the case...)
This isn't really the full picture now though as we have over 1500 products, some with multiple technologies included, and we've also expanded the type of products too, so much so that it was hard to put all into one menu.
Today we've launched 12 new distinct categories in our navigation, which makes it much easier to find products via areas such as Security, Lighting, Housekeeping etc. But for existing users, we've kept the historical Technologies section, which is located 3rd from the right:
We wouldn't want you getting lost if this is the way you've shopped here before - so thought you'd like to know!
