Z-Wave Announces 650th Product

Home automation is a market on the rise. You only need to look at the latest news to see that the Z-Wave alliance has recently announced their 650th certified product to see just how much of a growing market it is at the moment.

The ZRC-100 portable controller from Remotec Technology Ltd is the product that has allowed Z-Wave to receive this commendation which has cemented their place as the market leader in terms of the number they offer. 650 is quite an astonishing number for a couple of reasons. First, the home automation market is still in its infancy, and second, because the company only received their certificate for 600 products back in January 2012, which means 50 products have been certified since then.

The portable controller provided by Remotec Technology Limited is a simple but secure alarm, light and lock controller that also has the facility to control the majority of other home devices without the need for an internet gateway.

This product is one of the most sought-after developments from this company due to the technology used in each controller. Every controller uses AES128 encryption as standard. This is the same level of security that is used for the majority of online banking sites. Furthermore, in comparison with other products for this field, it is inexpensive, which is obviously a huge benefit as too many people currently see the market as unobtainable because of the price.

Another huge benefit of this controller is that it is easy to use. So it really does tick all the boxes. All of these features make this controller ideal for use with a small business or even at local events.

Even though this technology has been utilised by Remotec Technology Ltd, the ZRC-100 can control all Z-Wave products from any manufacturer. The ZRC-100 will slot nicely into the Z-URC line from Remotec. This line was developed originally by Remotec to fill a gap for home automation solutions.

It is undeniable that the growth of home automation has surprised even the most optimistic of people in the industry. However, their success in this slow-moving industry was by no means automatic. Z-Wave has been in operation since 2004, and it has been a hard road to get to be the market leader. Now, Z-Wave offers a variety of cost-effective solutions.
