Z-Wave makes major splash at CEDIA 2012

The chairman of the Z-Wave alliance Mark Walters was happy to represent the brand at CEDIA, and he was more than excited about the future. All in all, eight leading alliance members showcased various items from the technology across the three days of CEDIA.

Alliance members spoke about the acceptance of the technology into the two new markets; Brazil and Japan. The latter of the two they were very happy about and figured with the technology available there Z-Wave would slot right in. The news of acceptance in Japan was immediately followed by the announcement of Japan’s first registered product a LED controller and dimmer. This will undoubtedly be the start of the development of hundreds of products that will be announced over the next several months.

With the two new markets came two additional alliance members, Hitoshi Kubota for Japan and Jean Pascal Nathan De Simon for Brazil. Both bring them a combined experience of 60 years in technology and associated markets. Jean Pascal Nathan De Simon fought for the introduction of home automation items into Brazil, and he essentially instigated the breakthrough. This is the main reason why he was selected as the alliance member for Brazil.

The changes that Z-Wave technology has brought to the market are essentially nothing other than ground breaking. Now, the Z-Wave alliance is leading the way for the development of the technology and promoting its benefits so that new companies will be interested, and places like CEDIA give them the chance to do this easily. With all the above in mind, there is only one direction this technology is going and that is up.
