    The emonPi - Solar PV Version

    The emonPi is an all-in-one Raspberry Pi based energy monitoring unit making for a simple installation where Ethernet or WiFi is available at the meter location. The emonPi can monitor two single-phase AC circuits using clip-on CT sensors, and can also monitor temperature, and interface directly with utility meters via an optical pulse sensor (optional).

    The emonPi is based on a RaspberryPi + emonPi Shield PCB. The emonPi features a ATmega328p 8-bit microcontroller which is Arduino compatible.

    The main view shows a moving window power view of solar generation Vs site-consumption which, can be used to explore matching at any given moment of the day. Site-consumption is shown in blue and solar generation in yellow. The totals at the bottom of the page relate to the current window selected and show at a glance how much of site-consumption was supplied directly from solar and how much of the solar generation was exported to the grid.

    History View

    Clicking on view history brings up a bar graph showing solar generation and site-consumption on a daily basis. Including how much of the solar generation is used directly on site and how much is exported.

    The OpenEnergyMonitor System

    The OpenEnergyMonitor system has the capability to monitor electrical energy use / generation, temperature and humidity. The full system is made up of five main units that can be assembled and configured to work for a variety of applications. The system is fully open-source, both hardware and software. All hardware is based on the Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms. The emonTx, Optical Utility Meter LED Pulse Sensor are a standalone options, while emonTH is a wireless room temperature and humidity sensor node. The emonBase represents an alternative to emonPi. All units are available separately.
