Z-Wave Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 6 - Gen5 is designed to blend into any home and any décor, and engineered to make your home smarter
Door / Window Sensor 6 - Invisible Sensor for Any Door, Window and Home
Aeotec Door / Window Sensor 6 is a battery-powered Z-Wave magnetic contact Door/Window Sensor, beautifully designed to blend into any home and décor. Add the intelligence to your Z-Wave system with Door / Window Sensor 6 and always know when your key doors and windows are opened or closed. It'll also let you know when they've been opened and they shouldn't be.
The Door / Window Sensor sends radio signals up to 5 associated Z-Wave devices within its own Z-Wave network when the main unit separates from the smaller unit (i.e. the door or window it is attached to is opened). Bidirectional mounting plates and a push button release clasp allows for easy end-user installation.
The Aeotec Door / Window Sensor also has tamper prevention capability and low-battery alerts. The sensor is 20% smaller than the first version, and also includes the latest stable Z-Wave technology including Z-Wave explorer frames.
Any Door, Window or Décor
Made from ABS plastic, the Door / Window Sensor 6 has been designed so it could be easily painted into any colour you prefer. Whether your door is modern white or wood, or whether your windows are dark aluminum or more traditional, your Door / Window Sensor 6 can be painted to blend in. Now you have it all - a security sensor designed to complement your décor.
Accuracy and Quality Sensor
Even with its slim design, Door / Window Sensor 6 doesn't compromise on accuracy or quality. Whenever your door or window is opened, this tiny sensor will detect it faultlessly. Door / Window Sensor 6 is built with 2 powerful magnetic reed switches placed along its edge that communicate with a provided slim-line, only 0.09" / 2mm wide magnet and can be placed up to 2.2cm / 0.9" away.
Long Lasting Battery
Built from technology originally designed for leading smartphones, Door / Window Sensor 6's battery lasts over 1 year on windows and 10 months on frequently used doors. When needed simply remove the sensor from its mounting plate and recharge it over a few hours via USB.
A perfect mix of slim design and strong battery performance is possible due to 500mAH batteries and Aeotec Gen5 Z-Wave technology that is built-in Door / Window Sensor. A strong battery performance is coupled with wireless technology that uses 67% less power to communicate.
Simple and Easy Installation
Door / Window Sensor 6 has been engineered with just 3 parts - a sensor, an invisible mounting bracket and a slim magnetic shard. Each part not only makes the Door / Window Sensor 6 so powerful, but also so easy and simple to install. Both the mounting bracket and the magnetic shard can be installed in moments with options including double sided tape, tiny screws and even a dab of glue. Once that's done, you'll only need to connect the main sensor to a Z-Wave network and attach it to its mounting plate. In minutes, you're done.
Engineered to be Smaller and Better
The Door / Window Sensor 6 offers a class-leading antenna. Optimised for reliability, this tiny sensor can wireless communicate over 150 metres / 492 feet.
The Door / Window Sensor 6 is built upon Z-Wave Plus and Aeotec's leading Gen5 technology that offers you the fastest response times and optimal battery life between recharges.
If you're using a sensor for security you want its communication to be secure too. The Door / Window Sensor 6 utilises an AES-128 wireless data encryption to keep it secure from prying eyes and hackers.
Whether used for home intelligence or security, you want your sensor to always stay up to date. Whenever firmware updates are made for it, you'll be able to upgrade Door / Window Sensor 6 via Microsoft Windows or select Z-Wave gateways.
The Aeotec Door/Window Sensor 6 is Z-Wave Plus Certified. Z-Wave Plus (5th Generation Z-Wave) offers a lot of new features including increased range, extended battery life and Over The Air upgrading (OTA). Take a look at our "What is Z-Wave Plus" guide for more information
