Great product but doesn't work with Vera UI7
I've controlled my Sony Smart TV, satellite receiver and split air conditioner with wf2ir. My notes: -In windows 8.1 you cannot see adhoc wf2ir wireless device in wi-fi networks. You need to install a "wifi scanner" tool. -GC100 plugin doesn't work in Vera UI 7. Overall it records and sends the IR signals flawlessly.

Bit awkward but does the job
Not sure if this was due to my personal set up but found the device unresponsive at times. Often having to reopen the application to learn the signals. When in use however the device appears to work well and is a great addition to my home automation set up

Solid Reliable IR blaster
I have a number of iTach boasters and have always found the. Very reliable, easy to use with good tools and very handy in awkward places and open rooms. I have one attached to the back of the TV and the blaster is very discrete

Can this IR transmitter reliably turn on and off A/V devices whose remote uses a single button for both on and off? In other words, does it merely toggle the power state of the A/V device, or can it specifically shut it off or turn it on?
Avi G. 8 Sep 2016
BEST ANSWER: As long as the IR code used to toggle the On/Off then yes. This device simply send the IR code you tell it to. I recall that the Bose Sounddock that we used in the example guides had the same feature and it worked fine.
Can I place this in my office and then use Ethernet to three different rooms and plug the IR blaster/receivers at the other end?
Chris C. 21 Aug 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the IR emitters connect directly to the itach using a miniature jack plug, and the wires are about 1.5m long. I suppose it wouldn't be impossible to run very long cables to each room, or to make some adaptera to run the signal over cat5 / cat6 wires (not through a hub/switch). It can be placed in any room where there's wifi coverage, and does a good job as an IR emitter. The IR receiver component is tucked away at the back of the device, and I've only used it for capturing IR codes from existing remotes. It wouldn't work particularly well as a day-to-day IR receiver in my opinion as it needs very narrow line of sight, and also there's no way (that I'm aware of) to get the itach to take action on receipt of IR... You'd need to build an application to constantly monitor it :-S HTH
Can I control mainly power on actions for AV and projector equipment and other actions from the Fibaro HC2? Looking to create a scene to turn on all of my devices, put to right input and another to turn then them all off.

BEST ANSWER: This should work fine. We have application notes showing how to use it with HC2 and how to learn IR codes. Configuring iTach - Using iTach with HC2 -
