Need advice? More information?

LightwaveRF Connect Basic Plug-In On/Off wall plugs can be used to remotely operate any mains appliances devices using a simple LightwaveRF Remote Handset or Controller.

The adapter simply plugs into any standard UK wall socket and can control loads up to 3KW, including lamps, appliances, LEDs etc.

If you add a LightwaveRF LightwaveRF Link controller to your network, you will be able to control these sockets (and all devices) from anywhere in the world from your PC or Smartphone.

This kit contains three basic wall plugs and one basic Remote Control. The basic wall plugs do have some limitations compared to the LightwaveRF Standard Wall Plugs:

  • No Manual Switch control on wall plug
  • Can only be paired with 3 LightwaveRF devices (other LightwaveRF wall plugs support 6 devices)
  • Cannot be used with LightwaveRF Moods
  • Basic Remote control only supports 3 devices.

We recommend using the LightwaveRF Standard Wall Plugs as they give more flexible use, can be used with moods and paired with up to 6 LightwaveRF transmitters.

"Self programming" problem.
The sockets work well but as they automatically go into programming mode when power is applied, they may cause problems for some people. Our area can be prone to short power cuts and it only needs someone eg. walking down the hall or operating a remote when the power restores for the socket to get programmed with an additional code (eg. the socket for the printer in my room has just started responding to the bathroom light switch). A possible resolution if one for example has a spare remote would be to program any unused slots on the socket with unused remote codes.

Great product poor delivery.
Being used for Xmas lights. Good quality and easy to use. It is a shame the purchase experience was spoilt by poor delivery and even poorer customer service.

Perfect for those hard to reach sockets
I have expanded my collection of Lightwave RF products with the on/off socket set. They are perfect for switching on lights that are plugged into difficult to reach sockets which would otherwise be left off for most evenings. Even better is the ease of setting them up - not only with the remote control unit supplied, but also on my iPhone and iPad through the Lightwave RF App. I have even hooked up a kettle which we can switch on from bed to have the boiled water ready when we go down to make a morning cuppa. (Lazy or what?)

I am using these controllable sockets in location where the sockets are not on show so it is cheaper than buying actual single sockets in the finish you need.

BEST ANSWER: It works all over my house and parts of the house has very thick solid walls. I would doubt you will have a problem with range.
What is the difference between this 3 pack and the more expensive 3 pack which doesn't have "basic" in the name?
