Turning On/Off from HC2 Scene for Running as a Hot Water Timer
If you want to turn it on/off from an HC2 Scene, you'll need to convert to LUA and add the following, - fibaro:call(DeviceID, "setMode", "1"); -- for ON - fibaro:call(DeviceID, "setMode", "0"); -- for OFF Great device though with good range.

Best item in my Z-Wave network...
Small, easy to install, easy to pair, easy to use. It is just one easy device. Works perfectly well. No problems so far and does the job great...

Could not get this to operate reliably with Vera, constant communication problems, replaced with a Quibino relay super reliable.

Easiest way to get my gas boiler (Worcester Greenstar) under Z-Wave control. On and Off is determined by Fibaro Multisensors.

I'd like to use this to control my hot water remotely if I need to. I currently have a Horstmann timer unit and I was hoping to get the above switch to connect to the timer unit and control it via Z wave. Would this work? Also, does it work with smart things? Thanks
Ajay B. 12 Sep 2016
BEST ANSWER: This is a simple on off switch for a boiler. It needs to receive on off commands from a zwave controller. If your timer unit functions as a zwave controller then maybe yes. Otherwise no.
Can this receiver work alone without the thermostat? i need it for my boiler. Actually i just need a switch.. I can use a relay from fibaro etc.. but i also need a physical button.. I am well aware of the fail safe "feature" but besides that, will it work standalone? ie: able to switch it on/off from domoticz as well as switch on/off from physical button? if it is switched on from domoticz, is the fail safe feature also engaged?

BEST ANSWER: I'm using this device in a vera edge system (UI7) and it's functioning as a standalone switch to control the boiler. You can also override the switch state using the ON or OFF switches. Note that when the override switches are used to set the state to ON, the fail safe doesn't operate. The fail safe only functions when the unit is switched ON by a z-wave command.
hi we have bought from you an evohome control system for our heating , as you know it will not work with a " megaflow " system , can we use this with our z wave system to start & stop the hot water , the thank has its own themostat built in or can i use just a aeotec micro switch ?

BEST ANSWER: Hello, I've been using the Secure receiver to control the water heater in my apartment for a year now, but it actually works as a simple switch.
I have a Vera Edge with Fibaro motion sensors, can I use temperature reading from Fibaro sensor as a room thermostat with this boiler receiver?
5 Feb 2016
BEST ANSWER: You can use the Fibaro Motion sensor as a feed to a scene in VERA. The scene would then compare that to your chosen temperature and decide if the heating should be on or off. You would need to take care of the SSR-303's fail-safe feature, otherwise it will go into failsafe mode after about 45 mins. These guides should help you.
