Need advice? More information?

The SwiidInter Cord Switch is a Z-Wave ON/Off switch that replaces your existing cord. It can be turned On/Off like a manual switch or be controlled wirelessly by Z-Wave. It can also be used to directly control other Z-Wave devices on your home automation system.

Lamp Control

The SwiidInter Cord switch, is installed into the lamp's cable, replacing any existing cable switch. You can then control the lamp wirelessly via your Z-Wave system, or you can manually control the lamp by pressing the SwiidInter's button. This is ideal for any type of lamp up to 660W.

Z-Wave Control of other Devices

Scene Control

The SwiidInter Cord switch features instant status updates which means that each time the lamp is switched On or Off this is immediately reported to the Z-Wave controller. You can use this to trigger a scene that can then control many devices, start a timer or even send you an alert.

Associated Devices

The Cord switch has two Association groups, each of which can be associated with up to five other Z-Wave devices. This means that the Cord Switch can be used to control other Z-Wave devices such as On/Off switches, dimmers etc - all from the touch of the SwiidInter's button. The association groups are controlled with a short (group 2) or a long (group 1) press of the SwindInter's button.

Being able to easily control scenes or other Z-Wave devices make the SwiidInter Cord Switch extremely versatile in controlling local (wired) lamp as well as lots of other devices and events in your system.

The SwiidInter Cord Switch works with most Z-Wave controllers - check our Z-Wave Compatibility Guide for more information.

Useful, but prone to freezing with poor mains
I have installed 6 of these devices and in general they work very well. I would echo the comments of others that the plastic used for their construction is quite cheap and flimsy. My main issue with them is that I live in an area with regular power issues, this seems to make these devices freeze up quite often with them having to be switched off and on at the mains to reset them. Other than that a useful product.

Great product just badly made
Corner cutting on the plastic-forming makes this feel cheap. The plastic is very light and the button pressing, hit and miss, due to flexibility in the housing. I would love to see a quality version of this. Might re-house the electronics myself. It's a great, useful product otherwise. It also buzzes quite loudly and has been prone to the odd freeze up - so not perfect. But still a good addition to my set up.

Why have the bulging socket when you can have the slim switch?
Why aren't there more of these? 5min to swap over the existing in-line switch with this one and paired in seconds. No one would ever suspect that it is now a "smart" lamp that can be switched via my phone etc. Plus it still retains full functionality of the old in-line. I'll definitely be buying more of these in the future.

Good product but a little pricey and fiddly to wire/include
Got mine all setup and working fine, inductions came in French only but downloaded pdf here. Wiring is tight and took me a couple of attempts to close it all up straight. Once I did I struggled to get the include button pressed through the hole, ended up opening the case and testing it (exposing live connections/board). Tested fine. Reclosed case and took a good few attempts to work but once I got it I managed to include no problems. I'm using incontrol ha and a Zstick-c, had an issue with the lamp turning off but not back on, app and software said it was on. Recycled power and it came on. Unsure if this is a controller or device issue but I'm leaning to getting an edge lol

Work well but be aware they emit high pitch sound all the time
Bought three for bedside lamps, zwave works well (HS3) but all three emit a high pitch sound which is louder when switched on. Its just about bearable but not great!

Fiddly to connect the wires; actual range of the transmit receive very poor

Very Happy
I was using on/off switch sockets for my bedside lamps. Bit of a pain as I had to use my phone to switch them on and off as the plugs are under the bed. The inline switches would also get turned off and of cause you could then not turn them back on... This solves both issues. Yes may be a little expensive but it's the perfect solution so worth it.

Usable, but not perfect
This is quite unique product in his niche right now. Correct me, if i'm wrong, but there is not a lot of Z-Wave cord switches in the market, so, if You have a lot of unfixed wall/floor lamps in Your house, then this is choice for You. About the product - for me personally it feels a little bit to big, at least, when to compare with my old "dumb" switches, but this is not a big problem. The installation is quick and easy, and it works, at least as a replacement of the "dumb switch". The stability - seems to work, but yes, there was one "freeze" during the week on my ~5 switches. Just the power cord pull out and in, and the switch was back in the business. I'm not sure, what was the reason, because this was the only case, and also i do not know, is this a "feature" of those switches, or just a only and one unhappy occasion. If You have a lot of wall lamps, then i'd recommend this product for You. If You can wait a little bit, then let's wait for smaller ones with not so huge max load (660W is a little bit overkill for today's LED era, when actual loads are 10 to 100 times less).

I now have 3 of these switches which are good in operation, however, more thought is required in its design (a) it is very fiddly to wire up and you need a very small instrument Philips screwdriver as the screws for the cable clamps and to hold the 2 halves together are very small (b) be careful as the small clear plastic button for the 'inclusion' switch falls out very easily when the switch is apart and could easily lose it (c) the blue LED light only comes on when the lamp is on - why? Surely its obvious when the lamp is switched on! It would be far more useful to have a low intensity amber LED when the switch is 'off' as, after all, the room may be dark and it would hlep to guide towards the switch. Also, the blue LED is far too bright abd intrusive so I have put some insulating tape on the iside of the switch to mask this and only allow a dull light to show through.

Slimline - More stylish than a switch socket
Does exactly what we wanted to replace in-line switches - good wife acceptance factor. Installation was a bit fiddly due to small screws on the unit and cable clamps, needed to dig out my watch makers screwdrivers as you need to get the right cross head for the job. Apart from that, easy inclusion, picked up by Vera with no issues. Prepared to pay the price for the form factor to test but given size and electronics, this would be better priced around 25/30 before we go for any more.

It was the missing chain
It was the missing chain from my z-wave system!

Can you confirm that these switches have 'Instant Status Update'. The documentation contradicts this, and the two that I already have don not have this feature.

I bought one of these last year and it worked well until it stopped working a few months ago. Anyone experience of them developing faults?

I bought two of thes switches recently. I've installed one and it works fine but I have noticed that it makes a noise like a quietly boiling kettle when the lamp is on. The bulb in the lamp is a low watt halogen. I am slightly concerned that Thor noise may indicate that a component in the switch is running in a stressed state. Can this matter be referred to the manufacturer for their comment please?
