Z-Wave Express Controls EZMotion Triple Sensor

Overview Shipping Returns Support

Need advice? More information?

The EZMotion Triple Sensor is a Z-Wave compatible motion detector that can be triggered by movement, changes in light level and temperature. Allowing it to be used as a security and home automation sensor.

The detector includes three sensors.

PIR (passive infrared receiver)

Monitors changes in infrared level and movement that indicate a persons presence. Once detected, the unit sends an alert to all the Z-Wave devices it is associated with.

Light Level sensor

Measures a room’s light level (lux) allowing it to trigger an event when the light level is above or below a pre-set level. For instance, when the room is dark and movement is detected the unit signals to the controller to turn the room's lights on - lights come on automatically when you walk into a room.

Temperature sensor

Measures a room’s ambient temperature, triggering an alert when it is above or below a pre-set level.

The motion detector supports up to four Z-Wave devices, this means that when the unit is triggered, all devices associated with the unit will receive the Z-Wave alert.

The unit can be battery-operated or powered via an option external power supply. When using batteries, the unit will send an alert to the central controller and the units LED will flash when the battery level becomes too low.

Note: When using with VERA Z-Wave Controller see Application Note 37 - Using EZMotion Triple Sensor with VERA.

Worth a punt!
Excellent little box with the added advantage of being possible to power from a mains USB charger and a simple USB cable or up to 5m in length.

Good once installed
Not as straight forward as other Zwave sensors to install, as it requires a separate Vera plugin - and it did take 3 attempts to add the sensor before the temperature sensor reported correctly. Doesn't include any fixings either - not even sticky tape - so currently just sat on a shelf. Happy to report it is working fine now.

Great service . Will be using again

Excellent sensor
I have a few of these and also some SP814 and Aeon Labs sensors. This sensor is much better than the others. It seems to detect movement quicker than the other sensors and also its parameters can be changed from Vera (something which is nearly impossible with the SP814). I occasional do see some incorrect readings from the temperature and light sensor.

RTFM before installation
I didn't follow the instructions to the letter and had issues adding this device, my own fault. After adding the exact plugins to vera lite it all fit in place and they are perfect so my only advice is RTFM.

Im the owner of Everspring
Im the owner of Everspring SP814 and Aeon Labs multisensor but none of these are comparable to EZmotion triple senzor because this one is the best. Compared to the previous two this one is easyly setupable and the petimune setup is really functional. I reccommend to buy it.

EZMotion Triple Sensor
It's easy to set up. There are enough documentation. There were some problems with batteries but after properly adjustment of parameters they work long.

Good basic sensor
Nice sensor suite that gives temperature, light and motion info.

EZMotion Triple Sensor
Thanks to Mark at Vesternet, I finally got the Triple Sensor working as I wanted. The supplied instructions need some amplification - for instance, if using a Vera, you need to download a plug-in. Otherwise I'm happy with it.

Has anyone got this working with Samsung Smartthings? Thanks

BEST ANSWER: Hi, You would need to check with SmartThings to confirm compatibility. As we understand it, ST needs a device handler for each device. In theory standard Z-Wave devices will include correctly into ST, but unless there is a Device Handler for a device you may not be able to use all its functions, or change configuration settings. Generally, these Device Handlers are created by ST or the ST community and made available from within the Smartapps area. The EZMotion sensor is an old device, it was discontinued in summer 2014, so I am not sure if ST will add support for it, but the community may do. Hope this helps.
