How can I change sounds in Fibaro HC2?
8 May 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, Unfortunately this isn't currently possible in Fibaro HC2 due to the way the sounds are triggered using the Notification Command Class. We wrote a guide on how you can do this in VERA at - here you can see that unless there is specific support within the Z-Wave Controller the only way to trigger the different sounds is by sending RAW Z-Wave protocol, which you can't do in Fibaro HC. Hope that helps! Martyn
how is this powered? the pictures do not show if it is a european or english socket type
2 Apr 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, it's powered from a mains adapt or that comes with it , mine had both uk and European slide in plug ends. However you do need to buy a battery if you want it to work if power is out. The battery is same as used in a Nokia phone it's a bl-5c cost me 2.99 on eBay
Does this item come with a full user manual including z wave parameter values and settings for the device ? (the only thing I see on the dlink support site is a brief datasheet that lacks any detailed information.)
13 Feb 2016
BEST ANSWER: We've not tested the D-Link device specifically with other Z-Wave controllers, but they do use the same internals as devices from Philio, TKB and Zipato, so we would expect them to work OK. One thing to note however is that they are designed to be "plug and play" with the D-Link Hub, so they don't include any instructions or parameter lists to help set them up in other Z-Wave controllers!
Is there any way of changing or controlling the volume ? (I cant see many people wanting a 110db doorbell)
13 Feb 2016
BEST ANSWER: There's no way to change the volume, but the door bell chime sound is a fraction of the full volume. I don't have any way to measure it unfortunately, but can only say that it is lower volume and just goes "ding dong" once.
Can any of the sirens in your z-wave range create noise at about the same level as a door bell or telephone?
2 Feb 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, both the D-Link Z-Wave siren or the Zipato Z-Wave siren have a door bell sound. I don't have any way to measure the level, but it's significantly lower than the main siren type sounds. Note however that support for activating the individual sounds is dependent on the Z-Wave controller you are using.
