Excellent product, lots of features
After the enthusiastic blog by Vesternet I decided to try Qubino rather than Fibaro this time. Don?t get me wrong all the Fibaro devices I have used so far have been faultless, but the Qubino also has a power usage gauge. I wanted to control my under kitchen cabinet led strips with a motion sensor and didn?t have space in the light switch to fit a relay. I have access to the junction boxes above the kitchen ceiling so fitted the Qubino relay up there. Really easy to wire in and didn?t have to struggle with limited space behind a switch. Very quickly got the relay controlling the led strips. I have a house alarm pir in the kitchen which is wired with a Fibaro Universal sensor. With association that now switches on the lights when you enter the room and goes off again after 90 seconds after movement stops. Hopefully that will save me on electric as these lights were always been left on. Will definitely buy more Qubino units.

Given that the back box is deep enough (e.g. 47mm) is it legal to wire in a device rated at 10amps when the fused plug is rated at 13amps?
Clive W. 25 Sep 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not a qualified electrician and so cannot say whether this is legal or not. But as the relay is only rated at 10 amps you clearly need to make sure that the load is 10 amp or less, regardless of the rating of the plug. If this is the case then it would make sense to change the fuse in the plug to suit the load (3A or 5A are the normal alternatives).
Are these suitable for installing into a UK double socket to monitor power on A+ fridge and freezer? Cheers Gav

BEST ANSWER: You can install the Relayx1 into a socket and it will monitor the appliance's power. However, you may find it very difficult to install this into a normal UK double socket back box as there will be no space for it due to the depth of the socket and all the cables (probably 6). So it would be easier to use a power monitoring wall plug or even the new Greenwave 5-node extension lead.
