Der eFenstergriff ConnectSense erkennt zuverlässig Einbruchsversuche am Fenster und meldet diese an die Smart-Home-Zentrale. Dazu wird sowohl die Position des Griffs (geschlossen, gekippt, offen) als auch die des Fensterflügels (geschlossen, offen) erfasst und gemeldet. Durch den ständigen Vergleich von Griff- und Flügelposition wird genau erkannt, ob ein Fenster tatsächlich geöffnet ist oder ob sich nur der Griff in der offenen Position befindet, ohne dass der Flügel bewegt wurde. Der ConnectSense eWindow-Griff bietet umfangreiche Funktionen zur Überwachung des Fensterzustandes im Gebäude - bei Bedarf auch von unterwegs per Smartphone-Meldung.

Ein spezieller Algorithmus unterscheidet zwischen einem tatsächlichen Einbruchsversuch (z.B. Aufhebeln des Fensters) und einem versehentlichen Rütteln (z.B. durch ballspielende Kinder). Der Nutzer kann über seine Smart-Home-Zentrale Abschreckungsmaßnahmen definieren, die ausgelöst werden, wenn ein Einbruchsversuch erkannt wird.
