Z-Station - een moderne Z-Wave & Zigbee/Thread/Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) USB-adapter. Het verandert je computer in een volledig uitgeruste smart home gateway.

Een besturingssoftware die compatibel is met de Silicon Labs Z-Wave Seriële API (bijvoorbeeld Z-Way) en Zigbee NCP is vereist om de functies van het apparaat te gebruiken.

De Z-Station adapter ondersteunt Z-Wave en Zigbee / Draad / Bluetooth Lage Energie (naar keuze, geselecteerd door firmware-update).

Het apparaat implementeert twee virtuele seriële interfaces die worden gebruikt door de Z-Wave en Zigbee / Thread / BLE toepassing. Linux en Mac OSX hebben een ingebouwd apparaatstuurprogramma voor de stick en maken een nieuw apparaat aan met de naam /dev/ttyUSB* (Linux) of /dev/cu.SLAB_USBtoUART (OSX). Windows somt een nieuw COM-poortapparaat op, maar heeft mogelijk een apparaatstuurprogramma van Silicon Labs nodig.

Dit apparaat ondersteunt Z-Wave Beveiliging S2, Smart Start en Lange Afstand technologieën en Zigbee HA 3.0 protocol.
